Help Pages - Security tips when using
the Internet
The Internet is a way of connecting
computers all over the world to
access data stored on other machines. this data may be information in
text form, pictures, videos, music, in fact, almost anything you like.
Whilst this is very useful for finding out information, there are
people out there who are trying to attack your PC. Currently, the
average time between attacks on an undefended PC is 23 minutes.
Users on dialup connections are perhaps less vulnerable, however they
are not immune to attacks. There are a number of things that you can do
to make surfing the Web safer.
