Have you installed
something?
Sometimes,
despite the best efforts of the suppliers, software will fail to
install correctly. Usually, it will tell you that this has happened.
There are a number of options:-
- Look for
an Installation Log file. It will probably have the name of the program
or the word "install" and an extension of either ".log" or ".txt". The
easiest way to find the file is usually to search for all files created
on "the date when you installed the software". In either case, open the
file with Notepad and see if there are any details in there of a
problem. If you find an error in there, check on the suppliers Website
to see if this is a known problem.
- Try
re-installing the software. Sometimes it will detect that there is
already a copy installed, and will offer a Repair option.
- Try
de-installing the software. Reboot your PC, and try installing it
again. (The reboot is important as it ensures that there are no traces
of the old install left in memory.)
